Introducing Bread N’ Chu, a hidden gem in the Filipino-International grocery scene located at 203 Harding Blvd Roseville, CA. This quaint shop may be small with no seating, but it packs a flavorful punch with its grab-and-go meals.
One standout dish is the Chicken Katsu Sando, a favorite among customers for its perfect chicken to bread ratio and delicious sauce reminiscent of yakisoba. Another must-try is the Golden Truffle Sandwich, featuring fluffy eggs and a subtle truffle flavor, although it comes with a slightly higher price tag.
For a lighter option, the Strawberry Choux Sandwich is a delightful choice with its fluffy cream and sweet strawberries on thick milk bread. However, the Unagi & Egg Sando may not be for everyone, as the eel texture and taste didn't quite hit the mark.
Customers rave about the generous portions and fresh-made meals at Bread N’ Chu, making it a go-to spot for a satisfying lunch on-the-go. Despite slightly higher prices, the quality and taste of the sandwiches make it well worth the visit.
So, if you're craving a crispy katsu or a fluffy sandwich with unique flavors, Bread N’ Chu is definitely a must-try spot in the San Francisco area. Don't miss out on their seasonal specials and be sure to call ahead for a quick and tasty meal experience.

Bread N' Chu is easily my favorite sando shop in San Francisco and of all time. It's located in a quiet corner on Clement and has ample street parking which is already a plus in SF. The shop itself is pretty small & has no seating so it's definitely a grab & go meal. Chicken Katsu Sando: My favorite sandwich here! The flavor profile on this is so yummy that I have never once gone to Bread N' Chu without grabbing this sandwich. The chicken to bread ratio is perfect; you get chicken with every bite of bread. The sauce reminds me of yakisoba- not too salty & not too sweet. 5/5 Golden Truffle Sandwich: I think this is a seasonal sandwich, but it was recommended by the staff because it's a warm sandwich vs. cold like the Egg Salad one. Very fluffy eggs & the truffle was moreso an undertone flavor vs. an overwhelming flavor which I appreciated. The only con about this is the price because it's nearly double the price of some other sandwiches. 4/5 Strawberry Choux: While this is not the most unique sandwich & is not their showstopper, it's the perfect strawberry choux sandwich; the cream is super fluffy and isn't overwhelmingly sweet. The strawberries are always huge and sweet as well! This sandwich really highlights the milk bread because it's so such a light filling that all parts of the sandwich blend & balance well. 5/5 Unagi & Egg: Not my favorite unfortunately. I think it's such a unique take on the sando, but unfortunately fell a little flat for me. The texture and taste of the eel didn't seem like it belonged on a sandwich. But I do think it's worth trying at least once! 3/5 They do NOT skimp out on the portions here! The filling is always proportional to the bread and they use the thickest cuts of milk bread I've ever seen. The prices might be alarming for the sandwich market, but I've never once complained because a singular sandwich could stuff you. Would highly recommend grabbing a salty and sweet sando to share in halves if you go with another person! Service is great here too- everything comes out in 10-15 minutes and is made fresh with every order. Calling ahead to place an order helps a lot if you want to be in and out in less than 3 minutes.

We were driving home and saw this place and decided to stop. It's on the corner of the street in a small but cute shop. The food was very fresh and delicious, my husband and I got the tonkatsu sandwich. The lady who took my order and game me my food was very nice. It was a bit pricy which is why the star was taken off, but the food was great. It was almost $60 for our two sandwiches and two drinks, so definitely plan to spend a chunk of change if you go. That being said it's definitely worth a try!

*** do not check this place out if garlic is too spicy for you*** The tonkatsu Sando was fantastically breaded and cooked to perfection. Don't even get me started on the strawberry. But also don't take my word for it, TRY IT OUT.

Headed over at around 2 pm and we were able to order right away. When you walk in, they have their menu written on the chalkboard. After ordering, you can wait inside but they don't have dine in seating. Our total came out to around 50 dollars for 3 sandos which is a little pricey but their sandos are very massive. Egg Salad Sandwich - Very picturesque sando. The milk bread is super thick and fluffy. They are very generous with the filling too. The egg salad was pretty standard and had a mild egg flavor. Tonkatsu Sandwich - The filling was very large for this as well with two pieces of katsu in it. For my sando, the katsu was thin and juicy but I could have used a little more sauce. My friend said in their portion, the katsu was a little dry. Choux with Strawberry Sandwich - I liked that they used custard as the filling as it added a creamy texture to it. They use different seasonal fruits for this sandwich and the current one they had was strawberries which were super sweet. A nice place to pick up something for a picnic in the park or a quick to go lunch if you're in the area.

Ordered two sandwiches to try on delivery & they were both soo good. Katsu sandwich's sauce was so flavorful & bread on both were thick and fluffy

I was in the area when I spotted Bread n' Chu and I immediately started having cravings. It's a small shop and definitely for takeout. But, as with katsu sandos, you'll definitely want to eat it as soon as possible to get that full crispiness of the fried meat and the fluffiness of the bread. I went for the chicken katsu, thinking it would be light. This was definitely not light, as I got a very generous thick cut. Managing a full bite was a little bit of a challenge but it was still good and satisfying. The breading is great and the thick fluffy bread was on point. My only complaint is that the chicken was a little bit dry, but the sauce helps. I'd definitely like to try their other sandwiches, especially the golden truffle. Overall, I recommend checking out Bread n' Chu especially if you're looking for a sando to satisfy those cravings.

I'm not sure what happened to my initial review, but it seems to have disappeared. I visited most recently yesterday for lunch because I was running an errand in the Richmond neighborhood and was getting hungry. I remembered that this place had pretty good sandwiches. I scored parking right in front of their store around 1PM on a Tuesday. I ran in & thankfully there was no line, so I just ordered my pork Katsu sandwich and a choux (dessert) sandwich to eat later on. Prices have increased since my last visit by about $3 per sandwich. The pork katsu sandwich was warm, featured crispy katsu with shaved lettuce, katsu sauce & another sauce on pillowy soft crustless bread. Yum! In the evening, I had half of the Choux sandwich for dessert & the subtly sweet fluffy cream & fresh strawberries with the pillowy soft bread was perfect. Although their prices have increased, I would return for these two sandwiches. There isn't much ambience as this is a takeout store with order counter.
